Mapping the World

As a social sciences librarian I frequently meet with people conducting transnational research on one gender studies issue or another. I’ve found Mapping the World to be amazingly useful for such research, as this searchable database provides addresses and information for 400+ women’s centers throughout the world.

I’m impressed at the care taken by the site’s editors to document the centers – each entry includes subject links as well as a concise description of the center’s holdings. I wish I had known about this site when I visited Scandinavia two years ago!
