From Process to Product: Working the Archive

I’m a reference librarian by trade but have always had a fascination with archives. Thus, I was pleased to learn that NYU is presently hosting a series of events called From Process to Product: Working the Archive. Hosted by the NYU Workshop in Archival Practice, the series is free and will commence tomorrow with the workshop The Radical Politics of Hidden Archives.

The series:

addresses issues that advance the conversation from discussing archival processes to articulating the possible outcomes or products of archival research and writing. The following question will guide us: as teachers and as scholars, how can we make archives relevant to our own work while increasing possibilities for the public work they should do?

The spring 2011 schedule is available here. The series also has a Twitter account.
